So your chapters get shorter and more cryptic. 12: A few pages of philosophising on the moon. 13: Even fewer pages of I don’t know what, apparently in a stone age cave. Cut to chapter 14, and how the &?@% did we end up here? The beginning, in a different sense maybe, since this is the same comic book store where both he and Alice originally found the books that started the journey. Granted, I needed the comic that Sam just noticed to realize that. Still, you’re giving Kubrick’s 2001 a run for the money in cryptic and confusing ends of the story.
Granted, I tend to be a literal person. Metaphors, subtext, allegory, I’m always slow to pick them up. I assume that we are near the end now, and I’m full of questions and wonder if the wrap up will answer them all.
Interesting to see Alice taking this all in her stride, while Miki, the one who has served to explain everything so far, looks just as confused as Sam.
