    I just realized that the Maid of Mysteries does indeed have the same moon-and-star insignia over her heart to match the moon-and-star cut-outs in Lady Night’s outfit that reveal her cleavage. Nice touch!

    Also that the Lady Night comic Sam is working on is issue 91, which means that the series probably got a reboot in the comic-exploitative Nineties probably with a new, die-cut, foil-embossed, Collector’s Edition #1 issue. Go figure.

    I miss this philosophical banter in comics, I really do! The self-aware Maid of Mystery characters has so much potential its truly frightening. Looking forward to more.

    I cannot put this story down! Thank you for creating this amazing work.

    I hope this does not sound presumptuous or nitpicky: In panel 1 does she mean to say “putrification” instead of “purification”? Or is she imying some kind of genocidal purification?

    Thanks John – and yes, she’s talking about fantasies of racial/ethnic/religious/cultural purity, etc.
