Dylan, I am absolutely loving The Magic Pen. The wait between pages is actually making me enjoy it even more. It was great to see you give the nod to the upload of the Pickle torrent – I think about Hicksville a lot; after all these years (I’m 48), it’s probably my favourite graphic novel and certainly the most profound and moving thing I’ve read in the form. Keep it up, mate!
Hi Dylan – I’m here via your interview with Tom Spurgeon at The Comics Reporter. Hicksville is one of my favorite books and it’s such a pleasure catching up with you (so to speak) since I just read through all of The Magic Pen (to date). Your work looks great in colour and on my computer screen and I’m eagerly waiting for more.

So Dylan has progressed from making New Zealand the centre of the cartooning world to making a cartoonist god king of the world … 🙂
Love it — there’s a hint of Prisoners of the Sun in there?

Someone had to do it.

I hadn’t thought about Prisoners of the Sun, but yeah, now that you mention it!
But then, there’s a hint of Tintin in almost every thought that passes through my brain…
