As unsettling as it must be for Sam, I’m glad to see him back in the real world. I’m doubly pleased to see that The Magic Pen will come out from Fantagraphics later this year! Congratulations, sir, on both a job well-done and finding a paying venue for the book.
Once this one’s done, is it possible that we’ll see more of Emil Kopen? Pretty please?
Hey, aren’t you a North Island guy? What’s the significance of ending up in a Christchurch rubbish skip? Is Christchurch more real in some way? Or is Something All Too Real About To Happen?
Yes, it’s pre-quake Christchurch. Since the story began before the quakes, I figured I’d leave it there but make an effort to include some lost landmarks (one of my favourites coming up in a few pages).
